PROJECT INSPIRATION

Built on a gently rolling ranch property east of Wichita, this home and stable are derived from a formal planning notion. One enters the main house through a protective courtyard that shelters you from the occasional winds. The formal massing of the main residence and the dormer windows honor a historic housing idiom from the Midwest, yet inside all the modern features of living are incorporated into the home. The tall public areas are contrasted with intimate private areas. The colors and simple casework details provide the best of both eras, a home that is timeless.
